Dear Newington Parents.  

Now that Newington High School is back in session, the Playschool Program still has 4 available spots open for Newington residents who have children ages 27 months (as of October 1, 2025) to 5 years old.  Our program follows the NHS schedule and typically meets on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for approximately 80 minutes each of those days.  NHS students learn the art and science of lesson planning and deliver age-appropriate lessons in the playschool room setting with a certified teacher present to assist with the facilitation.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to get early exposure to socialization, routines, and classroom structures.  For high school students, it's an equally important opportunity to work with toddlers in a school setting, seeing firsthand how children develop their social and emotional skills.  The total cost of the program (which meets mid-October through mid-January and then again from March to May is $200.  Please email Mr. Salonia at psalonia@npsct.org for more information.
